Torrance County Background

Torrance County was created March 16,1903 from Lincoln, San Miguel,Socorro, Santa Fé and Valencia Counties, and was named for Francis J. Torrance, who helped build the New Mexico Central Railroad. The County Seat is Estancia. Neighboring counties are: Bernalillo, Valencia, Santa Fe, San Miguel, Guadalupe, and Lincoln
